Illusion of Motion

Unknown Artist
2012

Vertically directed lines with complimentary color scheme.  Space is created through atmospheric perspective and motion is achieved in portraying a decisive moment.

Pen and Watercolor

Continuos curves with stippling and complimentary color scheme.  The illusion of space is created using   a vanishing point and motion is attributed to a kinesthetic response with the tongue hanging out and a decisive moment in a pie dropping.
Get Me Out Now Fast Darin Shuler
2009

Continuous curves with invented texture and containment of space emphasized as the edges of the paper.  Motion is conveyed through fragmentation and multiplication in various scenes of spilling or tightening of muscles in the figures throughout the composition.

2010

Vertically oriented lines, organic shapes ,with invented and representational textures with analogous color scheme.  Symmetrical balance is emphasized through using the same length in all three figures with motion suggested in a before and after context. For example, the sagging volumes suggest movement had occurred.

Unknown Artist

Complimentary color scheme with dramatic side lighting and asymmetrical balance.  Motion is suggested as a kinesthetic response, as seen with the water from in the figure's head in the foreground.
